IBISWorld reports that the global graphic design market is worth $43.40 billion in 2022, with consistent growth each year. This industry ranks 9th among all business activities in terms of market size. Companies of all sizes heavily rely on graphic designing for business and marketing.

Graphic design plays a crucial role in business. It helps in producing striking visuals and conveying powerful messages to target audiences. Whether creating flyers for your print marketing, images for your social media marketing, or branding elements for your business website, employ graphic designing.

Unfortunately, creating professional graphic designs for business is no easy feat. As a non-graphic designer, you must know at least the basics of graphic designing, even if you opt to hire an expert. But as a professional graphic designer, you must keep abreast of the latest designs, update your knowledge, and hone your skills.

So when it comes to producing graphic designs, reading is the first step to take. Consider investing in graphic design books that are readily available in the market. Take it from some of the business leaders who have shared their favorites.

That said, here are top graphic design books to read in 2022:

Best Graphic Design Books for 2022

Graphic designing is key to boosting marketing and achieving business success. Findstack reports that 68% of digital marketers create visuals for content creation, while 80% leverage graphic design for social media marketing.

According to Red Website Design, about 60.8% of marketers claim visuals help market a brand successfully. That is why every business should invest in professional graphic design. The key here is to start by reading graphic design books.

Unfortunately, several books are readily available in the market. It can be overwhelming to find the best ones. Fret not, as we’ve rounded up a few recommendations. That said, here are the top graphic design books for 2022 shared by some business leaders.

1. The Non-Designer’s Design Book, by Robin Williams

Recommended by Jerry Han, CMO at PrizeRebel

When it comes to graphic designing, start with the basics. As the name implies, this book is for non-designers, specifically beginners and intermediate-level designers. It covers fundamental design principles, such as design types, colors, typefaces, layouts, and many more. Fret not, as it comes with steps and examples perfect for novice graphic designers.

2. Grid Systems in Graphic Design, by Josef Müller-Brockman

Unlike the first one, this book for graphic designing is more advanced. As the title suggests, it entails developing visual communication designed for graphic designers, typographers, and three-dimensional designers. It aims to help them organize content details with logic, structure, and balance. Ultimately, it focuses on the grid system presented through examples at a conceptual level.

3. Creative Code: Aesthetics + Computation, by John Maeda

This advanced masterpiece revolves around digital designs. It covers various design topics, from data visualization to digital typography to interactive design. This book asks readers to consider the digital realm not just as a tool but as a medium for modern design. Take it from the author, John Maeda, who worked on this research with his students for more than seven years.

4. Logo Modernism (Design), by Jens Müller & Julius Wiedemann

Recommended by Michael Nemeroff, CEO & Co-Founder of Rush Order Tees

When we talk about graphic design, what comes to mind? It immediately conjures images of logos. This book contains a vast collection of about 6,000 logos from 1940 to 1980, covering various industries, from retail to media to airlines. It seeks to explore the evolving modernism in graphic design through a wide array of logos designed through time.

5. Creative Confidence, by Tom & David Kelley

This book seeks to unleash creativity within all of us. As everyone would agree, creativity is the foundation of producing graphic designs. The book covers design principles and strategies to help you realize your creative potential and transcend many design possibilities. What’s great about this book is that it presents entertaining and inspiring stories from the author’s work at IDEO.

6. Flow, by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi

The author believes our state of consciousness (flow) determines our experiences and satisfaction in life. This book focuses on creating meaning, boosting creativity, increasing performance, and achieving happiness during this flow. This book highlights how we make sense of our reality. It includes research on personal psychology, consciousness, and spirituality. What a profound way to explain and explore designs in real life!

7. Printed Matter, by Karel Martens

Recommended by James Crawford, Co-Founder of DealDrop

As the title suggests, this book focuses on designing print materials. On a specific note, it covers editorial designs and book structures. This book consists of three parts: Commercial Graphic Design, Typefaces Cut in Wood and Linoleum, and Books. Fret not, as the author presented theoretical concepts explained through practical examples. Hence, it’s easy to read and follow.

8. Letter and Image, by Robert Massin

This book examines the importance of typography, covering three primary themes: typography as a symbol, literary form, and fine art element. This book shows the evolution of lettering from prehistoric times to the 1960s. It explores how letters have become means of communication to how they have been experimented with by artists and designers. The author has had an extensive review for more than 15 years. What a good read, indeed!

9. Steal Like an Artist, by Austin Kleon

Have you asked yourself what things you should know about creativity? This book covers ten things nobody told you about being creative. Yes, it covers ten principles allowing you to unravel your artistry and creativity in this digital era. It’s an inspiring guide that tells you to embrace influence, learn from others, and discover your creative path. That’s how you steal like an artist!

10. How to Be a Graphic Designer without Losing Your Soul, by Adrian Shaughnessy

This book has become a trusted resource for graphic designers across the globe. However, it doesn’t only offer practical graphic designing tips. It also incorporates philosophical views on pursuing this much-coveted career. Hence, the title “without losing your soul.” The new expanded version of this book highlights updated ideas on the creative process, professional careers, and even global trends. Picture the following scenario: You’re aimlessly scrolling through your feed, and Bam! Out of the blue, an amateur Facebook ad design hits you, and you’re not sure what to think. A blurry image, an inconspicuous message, and glaringly unprofessional visuals. It’s only natural to mark such an ad as spam and a waste of time, right?

It may look easy, but getting started with ad design can be quite a hassle. After all, there’s so much to take into consideration. It comes as no surprise that brands and marketers alike feel stumped when it’s time to head back to the drawing board to design the next ad for their marketing campaign.

In this blog post, we’ll discuss the top 10 Facebook Ad Designs to get your brand on the right track to converting as many prospective consumers as possible!

10 Facebook Ad Design Tips

The following tips will help you optimize your Facebook Ads design to increase conversions and build a solid brand image.

1. Correct Facebook Ad Sizes

Once you’ve begun designing your ad, double-check that your images or videos are the proper size and aspect ratio. Images and videos not correctly formatted are distorted, grainy, or difficult to see.

You can fit in all the necessary information with the proper aspect ratio while avoiding wasted space or awkward margins. The aspect ratio is the relationship between the width and height of a rectangle or other two-dimensional shape. It will make the design more effective and easier to read. It will also keep your audience focused on what they should be paying attention to. The result? A highly professional Facebook ad design that conveys the idea effortlessly.

Keeping track of all the aspect ratios and image sizes is a hassle. Don’t worry; we’ve got your back! Simply bookmark our guide to Facebook ads design size, so you’ll never have to worry about design sizes again!

2. Design Considering the Ads Placement

The placement of your Facebook ads is just as important as the format itself. Ad placement determines the amount of space you have, and designing without ad specs in mind can be disastrous.

You must first understand your options to select the best Facebook ad design placement for your goals. Here is a list of some of the most common ad placements, as well as tips on how to use them effectively:

  • Desktop News Feed: Excellent for increasing engagement and generating sales and leads. Longer copy and link descriptions support this kind of format.
  • Mobile Newsfeed: Excellent for interaction and discovery. However, the copy here must be concise because it must be shorter.
  • Stories: Facebook stories require creative input that is unique, full-screen, and mobile-friendly. Story videos are limited to 15 seconds in length. With over 500 million users watching Facebook stories daily, the realm of Facebook stories for marketing is brimming with potential!

3. Personalize Your Facebook Ads To Target Specific Audiences

For starters, try to tune your Facebook ad design to match your audience’s vibe. To get to know your audience better, you can use an ad tracking tool such as Voluum that gives you a detailed insight into visitors and conversions.

If you’re targeting youngsters, incorporate bright, catchy colors and focus more on Facebook Stories, which, in this case, are quite popular with the target market.

Make sure your ad message always matches the interests of the audience you’re trying to target. You can also use targeting options to show your ad only in front of people who have shown interest in your niche. If you’re trying to sell products or service that caters specifically to men over 40, then don’t waste money exhibiting them to women between 18 and 25 who are interested in beauty & fashion. Otherwise, all your hard work is likely to go to waste.

4. Emphasize the Value of Your Offer (Value Proposition)

According to Facebook, mobile users spend an average of 1.7 seconds browsing an individual post. You may think that’s next to nothing, right? However, we’re here to tell you that with the right strategy, even a second is more than enough! What matters is how well you can integrate your value proposition into the design.

When creating your ads, remember that people will only give you a few seconds to impress them. Use that time wisely by emphasizing your value proposition while keeping your clear and actionable call to action. Use a strong headline that has a clear benefit and clearly describes what they will find on their website.

5. Use High-Quality Images and GIFs

According to Facebook, “shorter videos get more complete views.” After all, a fifteen-second video ad is more likely to be seen to completion rather than a minute-long video. This is where high-quality images and GIFs enter the picture.

See, GIFs are visually appealing. They distinguish themselves from images and do not require the same effort as video, carousel, and lead ads. Similarly, high-quality images pull in all of the benefits associated with GIFs, except that these are comparatively easier to make.

Last but not least, pre-existing video assets can be repurposed to create eye-catching GIFs and images to boost consumer ad engagement!

6. Make Your CTA Button Stand Out

Your call to action (CTA) buttons are the lifeline of your online business. They should elicit a sense of urgency and stand out on your page. Each CTA, in essence, asks your visitors to do something about the product or service they like.

Your CTA should stand out from the rest of your content in terms of design. It should be simple to identify and understand; you want visitors to understand what it represents and where it is on your page.

You also want it to be visually appealing. You don’t want visitors clicking away because they don’t like the look of it. This can be achieved by using complementary and contrasting colors and fonts that match your brand identity.

7. Use Simple Text

To put it into simple terms, flowery, over-the-top language will muddle your message. It’s time to cut the jargon and get straight to the point.

Your top priority should be to create a Facebook ad with minimalistic graphic design and language. This way, anyone with a decent understanding of the language can understand. When someone sees your advertisement, they should immediately recognize the following:

  • What you’re offering
  • How it’ll help them
  • What is the next step?

8. Choose a Template that Suits the Objective of Your Ad

Before you dive into the nitty-gritty of how an ad will look, you must first decide which ad format you will use. Each design caters to different audiences and goals, so you’ll have to choose wisely!

Currently, Facebook has eight main ad formats. Some of the most popular include:

  • Photo: The most basic format, compromising a single image with a short header for the copy. Using this approach, you’d be best suited to concentrate your efforts on telling a compelling visual story with a single image.
  • Video: Videos formats are quite similar to the aforementioned image format- the key (and only) difference being that, in this case, an entire video is being showcased, giving you more time to showcase your brand.
  • Stories: Stories live outside the feed and immerse viewers in a full-screen experience. Capture their undivided attention by using all of the room you can to make an impression.
  • Messenger: Facebook delivers these advertisements to your customers via the Facebook messenger app. In our opinion, with Messenger, your best bet is to utilize short sentences and images with a single focus to attract your customers.

Consider how each ad format can be used to maximize the impact of your ads before you begin the design process. For example, if you want to demonstrate how your product works, a video or story ad may allow you to do so. Similarly, you could potentially use Stories to showcase real estate—a popular strategy nowadays!

9. Make Sure Your Ads Are Mobile Optimized

As of January 2022, Statista reported that nearly 98.5% of users accessed their Facebook accounts from mobile devices. Compare this to a disparaging 1.5% for laptops or desktop computers, and you can see why optimizing your ads for mobile is such a make or break in most marketing strategies. Your Facebook ad design strategy needs to be mobile-first to yield the best returns.

Making your videos and images vertical, so they work better on phones is one of the simplest ways to think mobile-first. Moreover, it’s also best to keep the text to a minimum to allow the videos to speak for themselves.

10. Test, Test, And Test Again!

Use split testing to find the right Facebook ad design. Predicting public response to a specific advertisement always entails a certain degree of risk. After all, you can never correctly gauge the entire audience’s reaction to a particular ad.

With split testing, advertisers can determine which version of an ad performs best. With this information, they can learn and optimize ads for optimality. A/B testing, which is available in Facebook’s Ads Manager, can be used to conduct the split testing.

A/B testing on Facebook

A/B testing is a marketing strategy that compares the effectiveness of two different versions of a website, advertisement, email, popup, or landing page.

Testing, when done consistently, can significantly improve your results. It’s easier to make decisions and create more effective marketing strategies if you know what works and what doesn’t, with evidence to back it up.

PDF is a portable, versatile document format that can easily be shared and collaborated on in the intended form.

While PDFs increase the chances of data security, it also helps you to maintain your format. It’s an essential tool for businesses in a lot of ways. With how valuable a good PDF editor is, you should learn how to choose a good one with relevant features suitable for your needs.

We asked our Desygner Chief Technology Officer, Ignacio Díaz to share his experience and the goals of creating the PDF editor. Here’s what he had to say;

“PDF has become a standard de-facto format in many different areas: printing, document signing, forms, etc. When you look at the market leaders in these markets, you find the same faces you could find 10 or 20 years ago, offering the same software.”

“When it comes to editing a PDF, people don’t want to be browsing around as we would do on Netflix; they want to be able to immediately modify the entire document without the friction of trying twenty different apps, dealing with subscriptions, and dodging advertisements,” he says.

Desygner Chief Technology Officer, Ignacio Díaz

In this blog, we explore the features you should look out for in your PDF editor and why the Desygner PDF Editor is the best for your business.

8 Main Features to Look for in your PDF Editor

This is a unique attribute for any product. A PDF with automation abilities should be your go-to, especially if you are a big company with many documents and files to edit and manipulate. This can be time-consuming, but you can finish your work in minutes with automation.

The need for using a PDF editor across various platforms creates higher demands with the increase in remote working. Teams can now access and edit PDF files on the same interface. It can work effectively on a computer, a tablet, and mobile devices.

3. Software Flexibility

This means that the PDF editor can adapt to user requirements. It allows customization of its functions to suit every business and individual needs. It should be able to adapt as your organization changes. Desygner’s PDF Editor is a perfect example of flexible and scalable software that provides long-term solutions for every organization.

4. Multi-Format Conversion Capability

The PDF editor should be able to import PDF files created with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop and convert them into editable templates. This Multi-Format Conversion feature should allow users to move back and forth between file formats.

5. Template and Signature Integration

A good PDF editor should allow the users to input custom signatures that will enable seamless form completions and even custom form creation. It should also be able to create and store signature templates that can be reused repeatedly for various tasks.

6. Optical Character Recognition

This is important for every PDF editor. This means that the PDF editor can recognize printed and handwritten text in a digital image of a physical document, such as a scanned paper document, and convert them into editable PDF format. The PDFs formed can be reworked or reformatted. You can convert printed copies into electronic files.

7. Security Features

There is a lot of sensitive and private information included in company documents. A much-needed feature of a PDF editor includes password protection that controls who has access to such documents and the ability to manipulate them and identity security to manage the access for every digital identity to the PDF file. Plus, consider adding PDF software that offers adjustment permissions and total manipulation access when required, even after publishing or sharing a document.

8. Continous Product Innovation

A great PDF editor should constantly be improved on. Every day, technology trends change. There are new needs in the design industry and new ways to tackle problems. Hence, every good PDF editor should have instant updates.

Top 5 Hair Stylist Business Card Design Trends

Business cards are an easy way to spread the word about your hair styling business. The best hair stylist business cards are eye-catching, memorable, and include all the information your clients need.

Here are 5 of the top business card design trends for hair styling businesses.

1. Geometric Patterns

Geometric patterns are one of the most popular trends in design right now, so it’s no surprise to see them on business cards too. This trend can be seen in the use of geometric shapes and forms, such as triangles, squares, circles, or grids.

The geometric pattern will add dimension to your card and give it more character. It can be added in the background or accentuate the overall design.

2. High Contrast in Colors and Typography

Today’s design trends include using high contrasting colors and fonts to create a vibrant design that catches the eye of potential clients – and stands out from the sea of other business cards they keep in their wallets and purses!

A high contrast design uses two or more colors with extreme differences in lightness and darkness. This creates a high-impact look that draws the eye quickly. For example, combining bold colors with light neutrals will create a striking look that attracts attention easily.

Also, consider using typefaces that are distinctive from each other in boldness or style. Use them strategically to highlight specific information about your business that you want the customers to notice first.

3. Gradient & Blur for Psychedelic Effect

The gradient and blur effect is one of the design trends of 2022 – and not surprisingly so, as 2022 is all about standing out from the crowd by highlighting your brand’s personality and authenticity in the most creative and unusual ways.

The gradient and blur technique can be used to add an extra dimension to the design of your hair stylist business card and create a psychedelic effect. The idea is to create an artistic background that makes the card stand out with bold colors and abstract patterns that create an almost hypnotic effect. There’s nothing that draws the eye more than that!

4. Neon Color Combinations

Neon color combinations are bright, fun, and perfect for any hair stylist who wants their clients to remember them as a vibrant, energetic brand. They are unique and eye-catching and can give your brand a bold and edgy look, but it’s important to note that neon colors aren’t suitable for every hairstylist.

If you’re serving a young clientele that aims to express their personality with their hairstyle, using neon colors in your marketing materials can help you showcase that. However, if you’re catering to a more sophisticated clientele who prefers elegant and classy hairstyles, going all neon in your visual brand identity might put them off.

5. Bubble Fonts

Bubble fonts are everywhere. They’re playful, they’re unique, and they’re a great way to make your business card stand out from the crowd.

However, bubble fonts can be tricky to use and, of course, aren’t suitable for every hairstyling salon. Like neon colors, bubble fonts give off a fun vibe that will attract customers looking for something lighthearted but might be off-putting to those looking for luxurious service.

Tips to Design a Trendy Business Card for Your Hair Styling Business

Business cards are a necessity for any hair stylist. They’re a simple way to get your name out there and are often the first interaction someone has with your business.

Here are some useful tips to help you create a trendy business card design.

1. Use a Non-Designer-Friendly Design Platform

If you’re not a designer and don’t have the budget to hire one, you might be wondering how to design professional and trendy business cards for your hair styling business. The good news is that you can use a non-designer-friendly design platform, such as Desygner

Our platform lets anyone create professional-looking designs without prior graphic design skills. All you have to do is pick one of our business card templates and customize it according to your preferences. You can upload fonts you cannot find within our editor, add your own photos, or draw shapes by hand.

2. Hire a Professional Designer

If these are your first steps in designing your marketing materials or visual branding identity, you might be wondering when to DIY and when to hire a pro

The answer depends on many factors, but as long as you have enough budget, hiring a designer to take care of any design needs you might have will almost always be the right choice. A good graphic designer can create professional business cards that will catch your customers’ attention and get them interested in what you offer.

With Desygner, you can hire a designer or design your business cards yourself by personalizing one of our business card templates.

3. Add a Catchy Title

Adding a headline can help you grab your customers’ attention and encourage them to read the rest of the information on your business card.

The headline should be catchy, simple, and straight to the point. It should also be short so that it doesn’t take up too much space on the card. For example, it can be something like “Your Go-To Hair Stylist” or “Get Your Dream Hair Style.”

4. Print Your Cards on High-Quality Paper

Printing on high-quality paper makes your business cards more durable and gives them a more luxurious appearance. This can help increase the perceived value of your services. Investing in a high-quality printing service for your business cards will ensure a stylish and professional look.

You can print your business cards with the Desygner Print feature. Here’s how to do it step by step:

  1. Go to your business card design within Desygner’s editor or upload the design you want to print.
  2. Go to “Order Print” in the top-right menu.
  3. Select your print options. You can choose your preferred paper thickness and paper stock protection among the available print formats. You can also select the number of copies you want to print.
  4. Then, you’ll be asked to review your design to ensure everything is correct.
  5. Next, complete your print order by filling out your personal, shipping, and payment details.
  6. Your business cards will be delivered to your door!

5. Make It Multipurpose

Your business card doesn’t have to have only one purpose – it can do multiple jobs! For example, you can design your business card to be used as a bookmark or hang a tag advertising your salon.

Designing multipurpose business cards allows you to maximize their potential and keep things interesting for your clients by changing their usage.

An email signature is a digital business card. It’s located at the end of a mail message, and it gives information to the reader about a company or a professional. It includes basic data such as the brand name, phone number, and links to the business site and social media profiles.

An email signature must be:

  • Professional — build a great brand reputation. If you spend time designing an elegant email signature, customers will perceive you as an established business.
  • Informative — tell your reader who you are, what you are doing, and how they can find you. An email signature answers the most important questions about yourself and your brand’s personality.
  • Simple — go straight to the point. Add only relevant data to your business activity. Create a signature that’s easy to read and provide your contact information.
  • Authentic — find inspiration from your competitors and use an email signature generator, but don’t copy. Follow your brand guidelines and design a memorable signature that reflects your company’s identity.

Email marketing is on the rise. The number of worldwide email users is expected to grow to over 4.9 billion by the end of 2023.

Are these stats relevant for your business? Absolutely. Customers often prefer emails to any other type of channel to interact with a company. They are more intimate and personal than social media ads or push-up notifications.

Email signatures play a huge role in your email marketing strategy. They give recipients an overview of your business activity and embody reliability. A professional email signature is a sign of respect toward your audience and a perfect closing to a message.

An email closing can be decisive in converting leads into sales. It motivates prospective customers to answer back, take action, and get familiarized with your brand. If you use friendly language and an effective call-to-action (CTA), you’re more likely to get a positive response.

How To Design an Outstanding Email Signature

1. Keep It Simple

An email signature is not an autobiography. When writing yours, try to add only the most important information about your business.

Your customers appreciate concision. Don’t go off the rails: sell yourself in a few words to make your message resonate with your audience. Ask yourself the 5Ws before creating your signature:

  • Who — who are you?
  • What — what do you do? What are the products or services you offer?
  • When — when can your customers contact you, and how?
  • Where — where is your business located?
  • Why — why do you want to connect with your clients? Why do you use social media links and CTAs?

There aren’t set rules on how big or small an email signature should be. To make your message as short as possible, marketing experts recommend writing 3-4 lines of text and keeping it to 300 x 600 pixels.

Logos and pictures are elements you can include in your signature. These must integrate into the email signature layout smoothly and never distract the audience from the main message. Remember that images are complementary items, so don’t overuse them. A business logo speaks of trust, while a picture of a smiling face is welcoming and joyful.

2. Be Consistent

Consistency is crucial to creating a good-looking email signature. It gives authority to your company and builds trust among customers.

Whether you’re a young professional or a business owner, you shouldn’t overlook the influence an email signature has on building brand image. Did you know that 50% of employees who work in mid-sized businesses send 11 to 25 emails per day? That’s a ton of emails!

Having a uniform email signature across a company can help to promote their services in a non-intrusive way. Every time an employee sends a mail, the brand’s reputation is on the line: a well-structured signature makes a business look more competent, and it can ultimately close a deal.

Hierarchy is fundamental to designing your email signature. Place the essential elements on top to catch readers’ attention and follow a logical structure.

Your full name should be the centerpiece of the signature. You can use larger font sizes to emphasize your personal brand and highlight yourself as an industry expert. If done well, people will remember your name first when they need professional services in your business field.

From top to bottom in the hierarchical scale, these are the key elements you need to include in your email signature:

  • Full name and surname/name of the company/brand — i.e., John Hamilton
  • Position/role/expertise/industry — i.e., SEO consultant
  • Business address/place of residency — i.e., 123 West 74th Street, New York
  • Contact information — i.e., 678345619, johnhamiltonseo@gmail.com
  • Business website/portfolio — i.e., https://newyorkseoservices.com
  • Social media icons — i.e., links to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles
  • Animations/videos/offers (optional) — i.e., business services promotional video
  • CTA link or button — i.e., ‘buy now, ‘read more’ or ‘join us’

3. Use a Gentle Color Palette

Minimalism is a virtue when designing a professional email signature. A simple layout is not only easy to read but also pleasing to the eye.

To make a visually-appealing signature, you need to use a gentle color palette. Follow your brand guidelines to choose the design and align it to the graphic material you’ve produced over time.

This creates a sense of continuity: customers that read your signature and click on a CTA will land on a page that shares the same colors and artwork with the email.

How can you make the most out of your brand color scheme and build a stunning email signature? Check out these tips and start creating your new signature today:

  • Use 2-3 colors — less is more. Pick 2 or 3 colors and use them for your letter font and other elements. If your logo is colorful, stick to a neutral color to write your signature headline and text.
  • Soft tones are satisfying — soft color tones are often more aesthetic than heavy ones. They set a calm and positive ambiance that improves comprehension.
  • Dark fonts are the standard — dark fonts are best for readability. Email signature backgrounds are normally white, so black or navy blue fonts are very legible and help in reading.
  • Play with the emotions — colors communicate emotions. Red inspires urgency and excitement; green and blue show quality, peace, and trust.
  • Combine colors with care — certain colors just don’t go together. Avoid over-the-top and kitsch designs. Go with what you know already works.

4. Add Social Media Icons

Source: Shopify.

Build A Brand Library Now

Social media allows businesses to contact customers instantly and reach new audiences on multiple platforms. According to a study by DataReportal, 93.4% of all internet users are social media users. This means that the vast majority of your current and potential clients are sharing and consuming social media content.

When you add social media icons to your email signature, you’re inviting people to get to know you better. Customers can discover a more personal and friendly face of your company, a space where they feel more comfortable and free to interact with your brand.

Do you usually post special offers or links to your blog on social media? If so, you’re doing the right thing. Clients that click on your Facebook or LinkedIn logo will find a new path to visit your website. You’ll drive customers from their inbox to your social media channels and ultimately to your site. To keep visitor retention consider using the social media post maker from Desygner.

Consider using these hints to add social media icons to your email signature and increase traffic to your website:

  • Align the design — choose social media icons that mirror your signature’s design. If you go for a rectangular frame design, the icon’s shape should also be rectangular.
  • Add relevant social media icons — the rule is simple. Do you post regularly on Facebook? Add the icon. If the last time you posted on Instagram was in 2015? Don’t add the icon.
  • Use the right icon — social media channels have their brand guidelines, and you can access them for free. Here’s an example of Linkedin’s brand guidelines, where you can find a guide on how to use their logo and download it.
  • Keep it consistent — platforms allow businesses to adapt their logos to different designs and use more than one logo variation. When adding social media icons, try to use the same logo in all your communications, from your website to your email signature.

5. Add an Eye-Catching CTA

Source: HubSpot.

Design Your Email Signature Now

A CTA turns clicks into customers. These links or buttons guide users to complete a specific action like making a purchase.

Adding a CTA to your email signature makes people’s life easier. After reading your contact information, clients have the chance to go to your site to buy a product or sign up for a service.

How can you convince users to click on your CTAs? Check these proven CTAs practices to maximize conversions:

  • Create a CTA that stands out — attract your customer’s attention with a bright and clean CTA design. The best three colors for CTAs are red, green, and orange/yellow.
  • Use imperatives — verbs like ‘download’ or ‘sign up’ are great to promote conversions. An effective CTA speaks to the readers and persuades them to perform an activity immediately.
  • Place the CTA at the bottom of your message — the CTA is the last thing customers should read. If you place it before your contact information, the email signature may seem too sales-focused.
  • Say the benefit — be direct and tell the user what you offer. Do you want them to subscribe to your newsletter? Use ‘Subscribe to our newsletter’ as your CTA copy. Are you promoting a product discount? Write ‘Get 10% off your next purchase.’
  • Be short — concision is important to business writing because it’s straightforward. People don’t have time to read long texts before buying a product. Be brief and transparent when creating a CTA, and you’ll be more likely to succeed.

Once you’ve added a CTA to your email signature, you must track the results. This way, you can learn what words and sentences are working and which ones are not performing as expected.

To get a clear overview of your data, use a tracking code. If you want to access and analyze CTAs stats in real-time, install professional email signature software.

The post 5 Common PDF Editing Challenges and How to Solve them appeared first on Desygner.

]]>
Running into issues is very common when editing PDFs using PDF editors or basic PDF readers. Many software and online editing platforms allow users to view and edit PDF files but most of them are not legitimate PDF editors as they do not allow modifying the already existing text.

The most you can do in such cases is conceal the existing material and add content on top of it. This could result in various kinds of errors. On other occasions, you may encounter compatibility issues since not all PDF editor versions are the same.

The Reason Behind PDF File Errors

While PDF files are ubiquitous, they are also very complicated because they serve as a link between numerous apps such as a design tool like Desygner, a PDF editor, and a printer, to name a few. Any additional or omitted parameters such as color palettes, incorrect PDF standards, and even an incorrect paper type can cause a slew of problems that can either destroy the printing job or halt it.

However, in most cases, particularly with basic faults, the issue is compatibility. There were several PDF editions issued throughout the years, each with its own set of approved standards. Using an outdated version of the software that does not support it can cause problems.

It’s critical to use the right PDF editor and the most recent version available to prevent these mistakes. Most updated versions like the Desygner PDF Editor include patches for known issues, which can save you a lot of time and effort when working with advanced PDF workflows.

With that being said, the following are some prevalent PDF editing challenges and solutions to fixing them.

Haven’t found a PDF Editor that does the job?

1. Difficulty in Moving Elements

When editing PDFs, a common issue faced by many is having trouble moving or modifying elements. Since PDFs are supposed to be static in the first place, relocating elements might be a tricky thing to deal with.

Using a competent editor like Desygner’s Free PDF Editor with drag-and-drop features is the best way to get through it. PDF editors are not all developed equally. If you want the most versatility, you will need an editor that allows you to test your creative skills.

This feature by Desygner makes changing elements in any PDF very easy, whether you are producing a PDF from scratch or modifying the one that has already been created.

2. Font Changes

The fact that PDFs are hypersensitive to font modifications is one of their quirks. This can sometimes cause formatting issues. Even though the new font does not affect the structure, the paper will nonetheless appear amateurish. Various factors contribute to this problem, including the following:

  • Changing the font
  • Fonts were not able to be embedded
  • Due to naming incompatibilities, the font mapping is incorrect
  • Unknown typeface
  • Instead of a font issue, there is a kerning issue

In the majority of these circumstances, it is either a matter of embedding the appropriate typefaces or doing appropriate font mapping. You can modify the settings to fix Kerning troubles

Another option is to transform page content to Bezier curves, which turns them into a graphical component rather than a text element. If the font is entirely missing, you will have to incorporate it or the font family for a certain project.

3. Image Resolution

When converting a document to PDF you may notice that the pictures in the PDF have a lower resolution compared to the original images, resulting in blurring or compression artifacts. This is usually due to down-sampling and compression configurations when printing PDFs from a different application.

To confirm if this is the problem, disable the compression and down-sampling. If the photographs appear to be fine following this, the issue was resolved. Note that JPEG compression is unreliable, thus down-sampling from 450 dpi to 300 dpi may lead to even more detail loss, giving a fuzzy image that appears to be low-resolution.

4. Color Changes

Colors in a PDF file are not always represented the same way as they are in the source file. This problem arises when some files are not color-managed or when a preexisting document is not using the user-specified working area profile.

In such instances, the software will display colors using the default color management strategy, which may result in color differences. It is recommended that you keep your software updated to the most recent versions to guarantee that they have access to the most up-to-date functionality and features. For PDFs, this generally covers the color problem.

5. Overprint Issues

In PDF jargon, overprint refers to the colorful elements in a design that overlay each other. However, the consequences of this can be substantial, such as some items being displayed in a contrasting shade or missing entirely.

Any text with an extremely small typeface can become utterly incomprehensible in some instances. You should check the final sample via the print tab in your PDF editor and configure it to simulate overprinting to anticipate and prevent these errors. This will highlight any potential trouble spots that you may correct by modifying the item’s trim lines or layer attributes, for instance.

Using Desygner’s PDF Editor to Edit PDF Files

Desygner is a platform that allows editing of almost any file type. Many PDF editing software merely enable you to sketch over the PDF document as though it were graphic. Desygner is different in this regard.

To edit a PDF with Desygner, import your PDF into the software. After you have opened the software, you will need to do the following:

  • Toggle the “+” symbol.
  • After that, choose the PDF you wish to alter

There are countless typefaces available on the website, and the software may inform you that a few of the typefaces are not in the database. Simply select Replace and you are done!

You now have a PDF that you can edit for free. You can now also alter the font, and remove or add photos and components to the text.

No matter where your dental practice may be located, if you’re not utilizing social media, then we’re afraid to tell you that you’re probably missing out on many potential patients.

2. Clinic Tour Videos

Who doesn’t like an awesome tour video? Nobody. All sorts of businesses conduct tours whether it is in their factories, gamers showing around their setups, or artists showing around their studios. Clinics aren’t too different in that manner.

Introducing the general audience to the various instruments and tools kept and used in a clinic would attract a large audience. Showing around the most commonly used dental instruments and what they’re used for would equip the general public with what dentists usually use every time they visit and for what purpose.

The concept of tour videos has been a game-changer in the art of content creation and promotion of businesses. While being very personal, they are also very persuasive and help attract the required market by being a memorable marketing token.

3. Informative Blog Posts

Finding it hard to procure a good topic that is both interesting and increases customer engagement?

Starting a blog is a great way to attract new customers to your dental business through organic search.

With blogging, you’ll be able to provide your customers with increased added value while boosting your online presence and helping you rank on search engines.

To start with dental marketing, you should begin by researching your audience. Know which population segments comprise most of your customers, and then create a content writing strategy specifically for them.

Alternatively, you can avoid all this by simply reaching out to a digital marketing agency one that understands your business’s domain and using their expertise to enhance your content strategy.

Well-written, high-ranking, SEO-optimized articles that match search intent are a great place to start. Consistency is key. Aim to create informative content that is both valuable and relevant.

4. Responsive Website

In today’s modern era having a website is quintessential to achieving your maximum growth rate. Nowadays, people are empowered to search, review, and verify their options thoroughly online before making a decision. Therefore, making your website stand out is now more important than ever before!

When it comes to dental marketing, your dentist’s business website should be optimized with the requirements of your audience in mind. Not only should it provide your target audience with relevant information, but it should also offer a streamlined option for online appointment bookings. Such features will help your dentist business flourish in an online setting!

After all, the last thing you’d want is to deter customers with a painstakingly slow appointment booking system or a cluttered website.

5. Encourage Word-of-Mouth Referrals

Never underestimate the power of word-of-mouth advertising. Typical advertisements are great for dental marketing, but word-of-mouth referrals are very much slept on.

People tend to trust the word of others who’ve had firsthand experience- especially if the others include their friends or relatives who happen to be one of your patients.

While word-of-mouth is primarily free, it wouldn’t hurt to offer incentives to patients who do recommend your practice to friends and family. Give patients who refer your dental business to others discounts, freebies, and gift cards for every successful referral. This will make your current patients more inclined toward referring your business to their associates.

Youtube Ads are a form of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. While unskippable ads may be a bother for most all Youtube users, one can not deny that if they’re done right, they can be very memorable and always leave you curious about the product, even if you do end up skipping the ad.

Youtube Ads are a great way to attract leads in the short term by allowing you to easily target specific demographics that are more likely to purchase your service.

Regardless of where it’s from, you’ll have to scan the sheet to remove the logo from the background. This is where Desygner’s advanced Background tool, Scan Mode, comes into play.

Scan Mode is yet another specialized Processing Mode for scans and photos of text. This mode can extract the extremely fine, gritty details that you’ll often find in scans or photos of signatures and official stamps.

Upload Image

As always, we begin by uploading an image, after which Scan Mode takes up the task of immediately analyzing your image and automatically producing a result.

Inspect & Edit (Optional)

Scan Mode operates a bit differently compared to other modes. It begins by analyzing the area highlighted, figuring out what portion of the image is the background and what’s the foreground. Anything that’s not marked defaults to the background.

While typically unnecessary, if the foreground appears too faded out or transparent, you can easily zoom far in and add highlight specific areas, bringing those spots up to full opacity.

What are the Differences Between Clipping and Background Removal?

A clipping path refers to the process of outlining an object. It draws a line around its borders and separates the object from its background. Clipping pathways are commonly used for:

  • Cropping out an object
  • Wrapping letters around an item

A professional photo editor or Clipping Path services is required to achieve the best output.

On the other end, if you want to delete a background permanently, you should use a background remover tool. The most significant difference is speed. It doesn’t take more than 30 seconds to make a clean, background-free PNG image with background remover.

Removing PDF Backgrounds Explained

You might have a picture, logo, or background that affects your reading experience on a PDF document that you would like to get rid of. You can consider altering the image or totally removing it. There are not many PDF editors capable of doing so.

You can use image editors to delete the image, but the result will never be perfect. You will need software that lets you remove background from PDF and keep everything in the forefront, allowing you to modify the document.

Once a file is in PDF format, it might be difficult to alter it, but software like Desygner can help you make professional adjustments. Its PDF background removal tool includes all of the features you need to edit a PDF file.

Why are PDF Background Removals Essential for your Business?

Consider the following scenarios: you have a PDF with over 100 pages, all of which have a colored backdrop. If you wish to print this file, it will be costly because printing 100 pages with a colored background will use a lot of ink.

If your company decides to refresh its brand, all business documents must be updated from backdrop color to logo. Using an automatic background remover will save you a lot of time.

Conclusion

We have attempted to cover all of the possible options for editing the background of PDF files using no third-party programs in this article. These are ways to remove backdrops from PDFs that are intuitive and easy to use.

Including GIFs in Emails: Best Practice

While GIFs are lovely for attracting the viewers’ attention, you do not want to go overboard. We have compiled a list of practices to observe when using GIFs in emails to assist you.

  1. One GIF is ideal for incorporating a fun, attention-getting element into your email. If you have more, your email will become too distracting.
  2. The objective of your GIF ought to be precise. Leave it out if it has nothing to do with your content or the activity you want your visitors to know.
  3. Visitors may click on the GIF; reap the benefits, and create a GIF that directs them to an appropriate platform.
  4. Create a GIF file size of less than 40 KB. You would not want a file that does not reach your intended audience.
  5. Always double-check your emails. GIFs are supported by most email services, although there are a few exclusions. The GIFs will appear as image files in these scenarios.
  6. If a GIF fails to display, ensure you include alternate image text so that viewers may comprehend what the GIF was for. Make your description as detailed as possible.

We’re living in the age of visual content. The old saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” is more accurate than ever. 7 Simple Photo Editing Tips to Improve Your Images

Want to make your images look stunning without any Photoshop or professional photo editing skills? Desygner makes it possible! Here are our 7 simple photo editing tips to improve your images.

Tip #1: Create a Blurred Background Effect

Blurred backgrounds are a great way to draw the viewer’s eye to the subject in an image. A blurred background creates a sense of depth and space. It also separates the subject from the background and helps to make it stand out more.

This effect can be achieved using a wide aperture setting on your lens. However, if you don’t have a professional camera or you’re using a stock image, just upload your image to Desygner’s editor, go to the Advanced Filters option, and adjust the blur slider to your liking.

photo editing tips

Tip #2: Adjust Saturation

Another excellent way to have your images achieve the look you want is to adjust the saturation. In photography, saturation is the level of the vividness of a color. It’s what makes red really red and blue really blue. Saturation can make your photos look more intense or muted, depending on how much of it you apply.

It’s also great for changing the mood of your image. For example, a desaturated image will look more dramatic, while an oversaturated image will look more childlike and innocent.

To change the saturation of your image, upload it to Desygner’s editor, go to Advanced Filters and adjust the saturation slider.

Tip #3: Adjust Brightness & Contrast

The most obvious and easy way of enhancing your images is by adjusting their brightness and color. You’ll be amazed at just how much of a difference these two adjustments can make to an otherwise dull photo!

But what exactly are ‘brightness’ and ‘color’ in photography? Brightness describes the amount of light in an image. If you increase the brightness, you will see more light and detail. If you decrease it, the image will become darker. On the other hand, color describes the hue (red, blue, etc.) or saturation (vividness) of a certain area in the image. So, for example, if you want to make the red tones of a picture look more orange, you can adjust the red hue to make it happen.

In Desygner, you’ll find both of these adjustments in the Advanced Filters panel in the editor.

photo editing tips

Tip #4: Use an Overlay

Overlays (or layering) are a great way to add visual interest and texture to your images without applying too many effects or filters. A photo overlay is a texture, an image, or a color placed over the background layer of a photo. You can use overlays to create mood and ambiance or simply highlight a particular element of your image. It’s also a really cool way to create double exposure effects or watermarks using text or graphics.

To create an overlay in Desygner, go to the Advanced Filters tab in the top panel and adjust the opacity until you achieve the desired transparency and effect.

photo editing tips

Tip #4: Add a Frame

Adding a frame to your photo can help it stand out from the crowd, especially if it is going on a website with many other images on the page. There are many different styles of frames available in Desygner’s editor, from thin and simple borders to more creative options.

To add a frame to your image in Desygner, simply choose one of the frames from the Frames section in the top panel and place your image inside of it. The image will adjust automatically to fit the frame. You can also manually reposition your image by double-clicking on it and dragging it to where you want.

photo editing tips

Explore Free Templates

Tip #5: Edit with a Preset

Presets (or filters) are great for changing the mood of an image without much effort. Desygner has some stunning filters available, all easily applied with a single click. At the moment, you can choose from our eight different presets: Cali, Drama, Edge, Epic, Festive, Grayscale, Nordic, Street, and The Blues.

Once you select the preset you like the most – and one that conveys the mood you’re trying to achieve with your image – you can edit it further by adjusting different parameters, such as saturation, contrast, and brightness, to get exactly the look you want.

photo editing tips

Tip: #6: Add Text

Adding text to images is one of the photo editing tips that can make an image stand out from the crowd. It’s also an opportunity to brand your photos, add your individual touch, or get a message across. It’s up to you how creative you want to get with it!

However, two main things to pay attention to when adding text to your images are the fonts, colors, and size. Make sure to match the colors and the fonts with the overall mood of the image unless you’re going for a completely chaotic and contrasting look (which is fine, as long as it is artistic chaos!).

To add text to your image in Desygner, simply choose the Text tool from the top panel.
